چکیده

Ten crossbred sows were used per treatment to determine production and composition of milk and litter growth. Treatment 1 consisted of a basal diet plus animal fat from d 109 of gestation until farrowing, then only the basal diet through lactation. Treatment 2 was the same level of basal diet plus animal fat from d 109 of gestation to d 21 of lactation. Treatment 3 was the basal diet plus cornstarch in amounts to provide the same energy levels as treatment 2. All treatments were isonitrogenous. Milk yield at d 14 of lactation was increased (P<.05) approximately 30% by the addition of lipids to sow diets. Average pig and litter weights were not different among treatments at birth or on d 7, 14 and 21 of lactation. Feeding fat to sows throughout lactation increased (P<.05) the percentage of total lipids in milk. There were no treatment differences in milk crude protein, lactose, total solids and solids-nonfat percentages and pH. Vitamin A content of milk was increased (P<.05) by lipid feeding during lactation. There were significant treatment x day of lactation interactions for palmitic and palmitoleic acid content, resulting in an overall lower level (P<.05) of these fatty acids in milk from sows fed lipids during lactation. Percentages of stearic, oleic, linoleic and linolenic acids did not differ between treatments, but milk from sows fed treatment 2 did tend to have elevated amounts of 18 carbonqength fatty acids in milk as lactation progressed. Data were summarized by day of lactation to examine

Dietary effects of distillers dried grains with solubles on performance and milk composition of lactating sows.

A study was conducted to evaluate the dietary effect of adding increasing concentrations of distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) to corn- and soybean meal-based sow lactation diets on sow and litter performance, energy and N digestibility, plasma urea N (PUN), and milk fat and protein concentrations. Mixed-parity sows [n = 307; 221 ± 15 kg of BW, 4.54 parities, litter size of 10.6, and ...

Influence of Dietary Energy and Protein Intake on Yield and Composition of Milk in Crossbred Dairy Cows

The study was carried out on 120 crossbred Holstein × Shahiwal dairy cows for a period of 150 days to quantify the influence of dietary energy and protein intake on yield and composition of milk. Total 12 dairy farms having similar housing systems and holding at least 20 dairy cows in between mid to late lactation were selected for study purposes. The farms were located in the peri-urban and ur...

The Effects of D I E T a R Y Fat or Fiber a D D I T I O N on Y Ield and Composition of Milk from Sows Housed in a Warm or Hot Environment 1'2

Sixty sows were individually penned in a thermoneutral (20~ or hyperthermal (32~ environment and fed a basal (corn-soybean meal), high-fiber (48.5% wheat bran) or high-fat (10.6% choice white grease) diet from d 100 of gestation through a 22-d lactation. The diets were determined to contain 3.28, 2.76 and 3.75 Meal ME/kg, respectively. All pigs received 8.0 Meal of ME and 17.5 g of lysine daily...

Impact of sow and litter characteristics on colostrum yield, time for onset of lactation, and milk yield of sows.

The aim of the present study was to estimate the concurrent impact of sow and litter characteristics on sow productivity. Sow productivity was defined as colostrum yield (CY), onset of lactation (the time point when milk secretion increased steeply, approximately 31 h postpartum), transition milk yield (MY; 36-60 h postpartum), and the mean MY in wk 1 to 4 of lactation. Therefore, the study inv...
